Gen z thriller set in Venice. Ruby, a teenage dancer entangled with a powerful Italian politician, is forced into hiding when she becomes politically inconvenient. On the run through a city choked with tourists and collapsing order, she crosses paths with Du Sheng, a Chinese police officer stationed in Venice whose rigid belief in systems begins to fracture in her presence. As danger closes in from all sides, an unexpected intimacy grows between them—built on fleeting moments and shared silences. Against a backdrop of protest, corruption, and ecological decay, Ruby the Heartstealer becomes an escape story about two people who should never have met, finding each other in a world determined to erase them. ​
